| Portal |
| News |
The news section allows anyone in your company-with the proper security access-to post news articles about your company and other relevant information. News articles can be related to events, locations, and organizations that are in your database. Each news item will list this pertinent information at the bottom of the article and each event and organization will have all the related news stories listed on their pages too.
|
| Resources |
The resources section of the portal is a list of categorized contacts that you release to the public. These contacts can be trade organizations, government agencies where a user can find out more information, companies that provide services, race tracks, or any type of organization. These contacts can hold events or have news articles written about them all of which are displayed on that contact's public page.

| Events |
Events can be trade shows, race days, training or classes, conventions, or any other event that your potential customers might be interested in. Events can be related to news articles or resources. Events can be related to resources by a hosting resource or location and an event organizer. An example would be a race track that hosts a race and a race organization puts on the event-Daytona International Speedway could be the host and NASCAR could be the organizer for the Daytona 500.
A good example of how the portal relates information in a way that users find very helpful is on the 1Tail site. All the tracks in the United States that hold motorcycle roadracing events are listed in the resources section of the portal. A user can then drill down to a specific track and see a list of upcoming events at that track and the organizations that are operating that event. This draws both roadrace fans and actual roadrace participants to the site, both of which are the target audience for the 1Tail site. To date we know of no other portals that have the information related in such a way on the web. There is no other place on the web where all the roadracing events are covered in a relational manner as they are covered on the 1Tail site. |
| Event Photographs |
The event photos section of the portal allows either in-house photographers or outside photographers to post photographs of events. Again, this drives traffic to the site. A company can go to a trade show and take photos and post them so all the other participants that the company interacted with at the show can go to the site and relive the show or, as is the case with the 1Tail site, outside photographers can be arranged to shoot events, such as roadraces, and drive all the participants to the site. Photos can be purchased online and, if a switch is set at the time of posting the photographs, the photos can be made available for instant free down load. There is automation functionality in place that sends the information to a photo lab for processing and drop shipping of printed photos and functionality to pay a photographer a commission for each photo that is sold on the site.
