OrderStorm Wins with the New Google Algorithm
In the last week there has been a lot of talk in the press about the change to the Google search algorithm. We have seen Overstock.com and JC Penny get penalized, Ezinearticles.com drop in the search position results while Encyclopaedia Britannica gained.
Google says that “people generating original content and maintaining high-quality websites” is the content they are looking for and that is exactly what content marketing and OrderStorm is all about. OrderStorm builds content networks that contain high quality, relevant content related to our customers’ products and services and that creates a buzz on the net for our customers’ products and services and increases their positions in the natural search results.
OrderStorm applauds Google for making changes that increase search position rankings for high quality, legitimate content and for trying to weed out the companies that try to game all search engines by utilizing linking strategies that add no value to the net. Since the late ‘90s, we have maintained the philosophy that the best way to increase position in the search results is to add quality content to the Internet and we have been frustrated by the way our competitors are constantly gaming the algorithm for short term benefits.
The result of the Google change for OrderStorm: We have seen a rise in both traffic and Google search position for our content network sites and that means our customers win!
If you want your company’s web site position in the in search rankings to go up, then publish high quality, well researched content. If you want to create a STORM of high quality content that directs customers and the search engines to your site, then call OrderStorm.
The Definition of Onpage SEO and Offpage SEO
Because we have been unable find any decent definitions of on-page and off-page SEO, we have written our own.
On-page SEO encompasses all the techniques used in the overall design and development of a website to make the website transparent and easily indexed by Internet search engines, and is almost always focused on increasing a website’s rank in the natural search results for a specific set of search terms.
Off-page SEO encompasses the many techniques used for creating inbound links to a website page to increase the perceived popularity of the page with regard to search engine algorithms, with the goal of moving the search result position for the page up in the natural search results for a specific set of search terms.
If you reference these definitions, please reference OrderStorm Inc. as the source.
OrderStorm has Content Networks Available
OrderStorm uses content marketing techniques and Denver SEO services to create Content Networks that improve a customer’s rank in the natural search. Every now and then we build a content network for a customer who promply goes out of business (much to our dismay as all we eat all the up front costs for developement). These content networks become available to new customers in the same industry. OrderStorm will create new banner ads for the new customers and re-point all of the links to the new customer’s domain.
Taking over an existing Content Network is a great SEO value for the new customer. This is a very fast way to get high quality links going to the target domain as the Content Network sites are already written and ranked.
Geo-targetted sites can also be re-written rapidly to emphasize the new geographic area and the content set on new domain names. All much faster than starting from scratch – the customer gets improved rankings faster for the same monthly cost.
OrderStorm has these networks available:
Ski Jackets (perfect for either a manufacturer or retailer) – see examples:

OrderStorm Invents Brand New SEO Technique with Rank & Traffic Builder
Denver SEO Company, OrderStorm Inc., is the first search engine optimization (SEO) company to offer customers the opportunity to build page rank and drive traffic using a custom encyclopedia patterned after the enormous success of Wikipedia – The Free Encyclopedia.
Search engine rankings are really based on two things – content and links. The OrderStorm SEO Rank & Traffic Builder focuses on these difficult off-page SEO areas in two ways:
- Original encyclopedia-quality content that matches the search criteria of the search engine’s users is displayed on a series of separate feeder websites called a Content NetworkTM. Content is king on the Internet. It’s what the search engines strive to provide to their own customers.
- Add legitimate links to your website from other ranked pages on the Internet including these feeder websites. The search engines do not like attempts to cheat their algorithms and threaten to penalize sites participating in illicit link farms (pages of unrelated links either from link exchanges or paid inclusion) with lower rank or expulsion from their indices.
OrderStorm offers Denver SEO customers the Rank & Traffic Builder to help companies get away from link farms by using unique content to develop a legitimate and sustainable link strategy.
“Companies that participate in link farms are running a very high risk of being de-listed by the major search engines”, says OrderStorm president, Jodie Barr. Google has already begun de-listing companies for using illicit link farm schemes and the others may soon follow. “Companies can avoid these risks by using content to develop a long term link strategy that is insulated from changes in the search engine algorithms”, says Barr.
OrderStorm combines the two strategies of content and links by adding a targeted encyclopedia of custom written content to the Internet in the style of Wikipedia. OrderStorm builds a private encyclopedia of 25 articles for each customer with a separate domain for every article. All domain names are built from the top keyword phrases for each business and use deep links to drive traffic to inner pages of the target site to build page rank. Sites also contain banner advertising for the target site as advertising links are considered legitimate by all search engines.
These feeder sites quickly become ranked by the search engines based on the superior content provided by OrderStorm’s Denver SEO writers. Links to the main website will then come from already ranked pages which drive up search engine rankings further. Content is re-written for magazine style articles, press releases, social network pages and blogs to maximize exposure, links, and traffic. The program maximizes the potential of every word of content. Unlike link farm links which drive no traffic, the encyclopedia sites will build the customer’s brand at the same time they are building page rank.
The new OrderStorm SEO Rank & Traffic Builder offers many benefits.
- Build Popularity – Each site becomes ranked thereby increasing the overall page rank of the target domain
- Deep Links – Builds the page rank of the target domain inner web pages as each web page is ranked individually.
- Build Traffic – Unique, informative content brings real visitors and traffic to the target domain – feeder sites are visited and connect customers to your site, unlike phantom sites created to manipulate rankings.
- Educate Potential Customers – people buy from the business that gives them the best information.
- Generate Sales Leads – each site contains sales lead and contact forms to fill your pipeline. All leads are stored in a secure database.
- Build the brand name of the company, product, or service in the marketplace.
- Increase demand for the product or service.
- Replace cost-per-click dollars with a lower cost per visitor solution and a higher quality of visitor.
- Eliminate the need for link farms and random exchanges – legitimate link strategy poses no risk of de-listing by the search engines
- Manageability – analytics show how many visitors come to each Content NetworkTM site, how many click through to the target domain and changes over time in your rank by keyword.

The purpose of SEO
Many of our Denver clients misunderstand the purpose of SEO. They assume that doing on-page SEO things will translate into more sales. While this is the best possible outcome, SEO by itself will not increase sales or number of leads generated. Complete Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a combination of on-page text and code plus off-page content marketing for link building that surrounds a specific set of keyword phrases. The sole purpose of SEO is to improve the target website’s rank in the natural search. A page one rank in the natural search results for your primary keywords will translate into thousands (or tens of thousands) of additional visitors to your site per month.
Note that SEO done right leads to more traffic to your website. Not more sales. Your website itself must still sell. Your content and process still must close the deal. If you are on page one and your site stinks, you will not see the increase in sales you hope for. Most of our clients need some combination of SEO and a website re-design to realize their sales goals.
If you are looking for a Denver SEO company, OrderStorm can help you sort through the combination of SEO, content marketing and web design that will produce results.
How to Configure a Yahoo! Store for SEO
This example uses ski goggle as the sample search term.
1. Make sure the Meta-title field has your search terms in it relevant to the product/category for that page. For example, one of the search terms we are focused on is “bolle ski goggles”. On the Fathom page you will want to make sure that you use a term such as “bolle fathom ski goggles” or, better yet, “fathom bolle ski goggles”. “fathom bolle ski goggles” is better because the exact search term “bolle ski goggles” is in the title. Do not use capital letters and separate search terms with the pipe (|). Pay attention to your product names. The Yahoo store will use the product name as the default Meta-title if the Meta-title is left blank. In that case, you need to be careful that there is no HTML in the product/category name field. The HTML will cause your Meta-title to be malformed and not display properly. Also keep in mind that most search engines will only use a maximum of 60 characters for the title. Plan on anything over 60 characters not being indexed by the search engines.
2. When creating a new product/category in your Yahoo Store make sure to use an ID that has your search term in it. For example: fathom-bolle-ski-goggles. Even though Yahoo specifically states that this ID is not use for the public it is, however, used to create the HTML page name (i.e. fathom-bolle-ski-goggles.html). For this reason you will want to use IDs that have search terms in them. You cannot change IDs once they have been created. The only way to change an ID is to delete and recreate the page. (see: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/smallbusiness/store/edit/regular/regular-61.html)
3. If possible, Make sure the Yahoo Store Name field has a search term in it.
4. Get as many of you search phrases into your Yahoo Store’s Caption field as you can while making sure that the Yahoo Store’s Caption is still easy to read by your customers. Use anchor links in your Yahoo Store’s Caption to link to other product and informational pages within your site and make sure to the anchor text itself has your search terms in it. For example, do not use “click here” as anchor text. Use something like “Click here to see our collection of Bolle Ski Goggles” and wrap the “collection of Bolle Ski Goggles” with your anchor text. Also, make sure to add a title tag with the search terms in it too. Here is the example code: Click here to see our <a href=”/my-page-about-something.html” title=”collection of Bolle Ski Goggles” name=” Bolle Ski Goggles”>collection of Bolle Ski Goggles</a>
5. The Meta-keywords and Meta description are less important that the other elements of the page above. This is because these two elements are not displayed to the end user and, for this reason, the search engines place less importance on these elements. Ideally, it is best to have all the meta fields complete but you are much better off spending time and focusing on the content of the page than the Meta-keywords and Meta-Description. If you would like to populate these fields quickly just copy and paste the Meta-title into the Meta-keywords field (use commas to separate the search terms instead of the pipe) and copy and paste the Yahoo Store Caption into the Meta-description field.
6. Remember, the first rule for on-page SEO is forget about that SEO and make sure the page sells! If the page is well-SEOed but does not sell, you can get top of page one placement across your entire industry and still not make a sale. First, is make the page sell and second is make it SEO friendly.
